Nov 11, · To have an easy start, my advice is that you fight the nearby army with Leon Leoncoeur but let one or two units escape. My strategy for this was sending Leon first into battle and buff him with spells all the time while he is supported by archers, if he need help I . Going south gives diplomatic penalties, and going east is impossible unless I have more land which I can’t get. Showing 1 – 14 of 14 comments. Tenshin51 View Profile View Posts. I suggest take the small settlement of marienburg sack or raze it then ask Marienburg for peace.
After that attack Orc settlement near Bretonnia so that you will not have to worry about the orc event. Also have a 2nd lord recruiting an army for you when taking marienburg minor settlement. After you stabilize your region attack skaeling for money or ask for peace so that Skaeling will not bother you in the future. Hax View Profile View Posts. I took Marienburg sieged them out, then crossed river took their last settlement.
Ppl argue to go farming or industrial. They r all WRONG, a great player knows u actually go both, once u contruct and uograded the farms, u raze the mill and get storeroom to upgrade ur industrial then u raze it to get chapel or trade exports. Also i chose to destroy orks as erranty war in end game, coz its a logical logistical choice. Lady Mina 9 leaderboard.

I farmed orc rebellion in Couronne for the first twenty turn while rushing friendly technology for nearby factions. Once you got the tech you can fairly easily do a confederation, and start working on Mousillon or Marienburg from there. You have to be careful about the orcs settlement close to Marienburg, sometimes he rushes you around turn 10, even before, so i’ll suggest reinforcing l’Anguille fast if you really want to play it safe, like put another lord here so you can react if your main army is dealing with orcs rebellion in Couronne.
Note that destroying the orcs settlement stop the order event. Mandarga View Profile View Posts. Do whatever you like. Early on the farmer penalty stinks but at some point it barely seems to matter.
You can always crank out a stack if super cheap peasants just for reinforcements to sack the greenskin city or take marianburg and disband them right after. And yes I said sack. You do have enough to attack Marienburg, but you have to do it on turn 2 before they can reinforce at all, once they start spamming units it gets exponentially more difficult. Turn 1 get to the border and buy 4 archers, turn 2 attack. Use archers from outside the walls to eliminate most of their army, by the time you engage in melee their army morale will collapse quite quickly.
Once Marienburg is down, go for the Orcs next, they don’t have a wall so it’s a lot easier. Lastly finish off Marienburg’s other settlement. By the time you’ve done this, you should be doing quite well in diplomacy with other Bret factions, get military access because your next target is Mousillon. Mousillon probably has around 1. If not, use diplomacy, confederate with Lyonesse and use their huge stack of peasants to assist taking the town archer cheese from outside the walls, then start sending in disposable peasants, the whole garrison disintegrated before I even got near the town square then disband it.
So there we go, less than 20 turns in and the home front is completely secure, you have 3 full provinces and no threats nearby. Next priority? I’d say speed your research towards the Carcasonne confederation, that way you can get the Fay Enchantress before the AI does too much damage with bad skill point spending. By around turn 70 or so you should easily be able to confederate the entirety of Bretonnia some of them can be rather stubborn , and should be at least approaching level 5 Couronne.
You’ll be getting obscene amounts of money every turn too. As DarkFenix said, taking Marienburg within the first few turns is doable, just painful. Since they are throw-away units, I find recruiting a second lord and giving him a bunch of peasants during the first turn of sieging Marienburg a good way to reduce losses in your important army.
It also makes the orcs less likely to come down from the mountain and try to siege you now that you occupy the port! Incidentally, if you capture Marienburg, send Louen out of it via the port, then land as close to Gorssel as you can – you should still have enough move to attack and capture it on the same turn.
This works even on Very Hard and Legendary difficulties, so if you don’t mind that early game slaughter on every side, including your own Just remember to fortify Gorssel to keep it alive longer once the Norscans come a-raiding. Originally posted by RCMidas :. Sin View Profile View Posts.
Here are my first 2 parts of my Legendary playthrough with bretonna currently at turn with Archaon defeated, so what I did here IS working Part 1: 1. Besiege Marienburg 2. Ask them for Peace treaty, they will accept. Release Siege and turn o the orc city and lay siege on them 4.
Release Siege once there is an incursion in Couronne 5. Return home and defeat the incursion gives you exp and even items 6. Wait for the orcs to attack you 7. Destroy their armies. Attack and raze their city. Join War against Mousillon 3. Go and destroy Mousillon 4. What I do have are wood elves crawling up my rear end. I hit them hard, obliterated their first 3 mega stacks by turn 7 but every time I try to take their capital they magically have another units ready to hit me as I approach.
