1 point · 5 years ago This is sort of necro-posting, but a mix of call to arms and a spell for healing together with using good old Arnokk to burn his own crew by retreating in one direction, should defeat him. Don’t retreat too much as he will run back to his start and be fully healed (isn’t that rotten). It serves 2 main purposes: It maintains a WoW addon called the Wowhead Looter, which collects data as you play the game! It uploads the collected data to Wowhead in order to keep the database up-to-date! You can also use it to keep track of your completed quests, recipes, mounts, companion pets, and titles! As a rogue this was very difficult for me, at lvl 96, the only way to kill ARNOKK the BURNER was to pull to the defenders without him resetting the good thing about this was the re enforcement’s run to you and then reset because they are too far, every pack beyond that sees you in stealth and stops attacking the npc’s so you will have to deal with them too all the way to the final platform.

The Defense of Karabor – Quest – World of Warcraft
Live PTR. Classic TBC. Quick Facts. Comments Comment by Maelynn This is a 91 elite Orc with a love for flamethrowers, whom you’ll need to fight for The Defense of Karabor. He has a few nasty attacks: Fiery Blast – his weapon spews a line of fire while Arnokk turns around his axis. He turns faster than you can run, so best back up when you see him cast this to be out of his range. Burn – he throws fire in a mediumsized cone in front of him.
Scorching Earth – he aims his weapon on the ground and once it starts spewing fire, he walks backwards to create a path of fire on the ground. He also has a wave of adds joining him at intervals; best AoE them down.
Comment by Rhase While fighting him, ignore the adds but use positioning to kill them; his attacks cause friendly fire haw haw and kill his reinforcements. The adds themselves do not hit for much, and his special attacks are cast frequently enough that they die rather quickly if you watch your positioning.
Be sure to avoid his special attacks yourself, though. They do hit like a truck. If you evade these attacks, you’ll have no trouble whatsoever. Comment by Gainet Very nasty chap! My garrison soldiers helped me to kill him quickly.
Comment by Baldemar What worked for me was to hug the walls to get to Arnokk. Once engaged pull him back along the wall towards one of the friendly groups. I pulled him to If your in that spot you will receive some friendly healing from the group of ads near by. Pull him further and he will evade. Once you get him there try to get him down about a third then call in your garrison help call to arms Take out the ads as the spawn and you should have him down in no time.
Comment by Deviathan This guy was a booger for my low-geared frost mage. But I beat him after the third try. Once you enter the area there is a patrol that will come at you no matter what. Use your elemental to freeze them and blizz them down, you’ll probably have to use your own frost nova if you’re not geared to hit them a second time. That usually kills them, lance any survivors. For the actual fight this is what I did. I made sure my Ice Barrier was up and I had my standard mage buff up.
I hit Icy Veins and started blasting him with frost bolt, when he got close I used Frozen Orb for the procs, then summoned my garrison, then I hit Time Warp and proceeded to blast him down. You still have to avoid his fire stuff but the garrison troops really helped and I was able to take him out with Time Warp still active.
Comment by taurenmoo A green skin orc with other green skin warsong orcs around him. If I’d have to hazard a guess, these are surviving orcs from the siege or orgrimmar that made their way with him to draenor and followed him into the iron horde.
Comment by temper I finally killed him on my 92 rogue- it took forever to figure out. Two or three hits, run like hell, looking backwards so you can see when his spells are done, then run back, two or three hits, run like hell. Ignore adds, do absolutely nothing with them. Comment by Elsu I gave up trying to do this quest with an Alt because whenever I die and rez at the Spirit Guide there are three or four NPC mobs already there waiting to attack me.
Comment by braneman You know what I love about this guy? For me at least his flamethrower animation doesn’t match up with what he’s actually doing, on my screen he’s doing a slow spin round that I can easily avoid, somehow serverside he’s following me exactly and will burn me to death in short order. So I died twice for no visible reason whatsoever fighting him.
Comment by Nevermoor Has anyone else had the “fun” of trying to kill this so-and-so post 7. I’ve successfully done this fight with at least two dozen characters, and now my level 97 DK can’t get anywhere with it. Using Call to Arms delays my death by a few seconds, if that much. And if a DK can’t get through this, imagine how bad it’s going to be for anything squishier!
Comment by ShakedownStreet Dropped this quest, it’s ridiculous after the level scaling update. Comment by Kilsek This fight is just a silly pain in the butt now at the time of this writing for a non-elite quest. I did it as a sub rogue but it was a long fight using Shuriken Toss and Nightblade on Arnokk. Basically keep your distance as you build combo points – Nightblade to DoT him.
Shuriken Storm for the adds when they spawned. Just a matter of letting the DoTs tick away. I didn’t use my garrison guards as aid – didn’t have the pressing need for them. This fight has got to be a bigger nightmare for some of melee based classes thou.
I assume range will have a easier time if they can handle the adds that spawn twice during the fight. Extremely frustrating and poorly scaled quest, abandoned it as it wasn’t worth another hour trying to complete. I took the misery talent to save time dotting stuff, and body and soul for a burst of speed.
Use shield to give myself a burst of speed and move back when he does his burn moves, when adds come, dot some by casting vamp embrace and shadow word pain to boot and flay them, you should have left which is managable as they shouldn’t break your shield.
You can out range his burn abilities and just kite in a circle this way. Killed his own men :. Comment by deathlavitz He uses two killer moves, both just burn you. If you back up out of range you will be fine – tons of time to do this. As a bonus if he summons adds while he does this he will burn the adds or maybe my dots on my shadow priest were that good. If you just try to tank the abilities you’ll die.
Comment by bakezzz Just beat the guy with my lv95 arcane mage on my 4th attempt. Basically what I did was open up with popping everything presence of mind, arcane power, time warp, call to arms and then saved my charges for when the adds came in. Kept doing so until he died. Comment by Wimbleton I don’t remember him being this tough the first few alts around years ago. My 97 Windwalker – Decent gear but all the usual buffs and food got absolutely buried under a wave of adds.
Arnokk is tough, but fighting adds in addition to Arnokk seems a little out of proportion. The first time around just so you remember who’s boss? OK, but after each rez there were even more adds. The Time-Constrained Player doesn’t have the patience for this mistake, particularly after five deaths.
It’s like being thrown into a subway car full of hostiles at rush hour. We’re supposed to take out an elite AND a dozen others? I remember a line from the movie Big: “Where’s the fun in that? You’re off my list and you’ll never work in this town again. You know what you can do with your flame thrower. Comment by Samaramon1 After my 5th death, I decided to maybe lure some of the guards to attack him.
So what I did was take him to the small hill sort of right across the Karabor door that he opens. There’s 2 NPC’s behind the hill and a barrier, and a few wounded Draenei on the ground. Once he was on top of the hill, I dragged him just a bit more to them and they attacked, and I went to the very top right again it’s a small platform. I died, but the NPC’s kept attacking so I had a few more chances. Being at the top also helped me dodge the blast wave, I’d just jump down and climb back up.
Eventually I did it, and the spirit healer is really near. Really difficult fight, very annoying. Hope it gets fixed, but I doubt this is a priority. Comment by Mepoc This stage of the scenario has become all but unbeatable, and it’s all down to chance now, if your character is a melee type, as Arnokk will randomly and instantly pivot in several directions when doing his channeled burn and the adds are present.
It is now a game of chance, and no level of skill can save you, when he instantly does a towards you and burns you to death in the blink of an eye. A complete waste of time. Avoid this scenario at all costs. I attempted this today, after several fails in 7. Comment by kaessa Died about 5 times on my monk just now. I’m fine until the adds happen, then I just get overwhelmed.
Hard pass. Going to just skip this one on my way up. View in 3D Links.
