Spoilers be below I got the event where mom kills your brother Got the Saxon war and later revolt Then nothing It is now , not a single event has happened The Lombard are laughing at me from beyond the Alps What the heck are you supposed to do to progress the story thing?

Desslok Captain 47 Badges. Feb 14, Marry Desiderata maybe? Shadrol Captain 73 Badges. Sep 6, Spoiler If you married Desiderata Gerberga daughter of Desiderius of Lombardy you’ll get an event to divorce her giving you a claim on Lombardy in return.

Puritan Despot of Saratoga 29 Badges. Mar 29, 1. Shadrol said:. Hopit Captain Pessimist Badges. Nov 30, 2. Sep 29, 6. The part about the Frankish invasion of Lombardia makes no sense – probably because the setup in Italy makes no sense, because Desiderius makes no sense, because the Pope makes no sense, and as such the whole chain of events that would involve these makes no sense.

Probably because it’s an event and not a proper devorce via game mechanics. But then again I only married Desiderata for the Achievement fullfiling conveniently history. Hildegard is a lover of Charlemagne as far as I’ve seen weirdly enough But you have to marry her to get the claim then?

Are there any more events relating to Charlemagne? I got one from a spanish emir wanting to revolt and a claim on bavaria when my borther died, that’s about it. LordofTurtles said:. Kapitalisti Field Marshal Badges. Jan 24, 5. So the only way to get that claim on Lombardy is to trigger the Desiderata-event?

Well that kinda sucks. Kapitalisti said:. Piwikiwi Recruit 18 Badges. Aug 27, 5 0. May 7, 2. The problem is this: you have to have the event to marry Desiderata fire, and the subsequent event to divorce her, which gives her father the hidden flag “enemy of Charlemagne”.

You also have to have Carloman die, which triggers the event where his wife a children flee to another court, which gives you a claim on that king’s primary title.

By default, Carolman’s family will flee to Lombardy if the king has the flag “enemy of Charlemagne”, else they will flee to a random catholic king’s court, typically Austruias. The problem is this: To get the claim on Lombardy, it requires that Desidarious is already your enemy, meaning that you would have had to already have divorced Desiderata via the event.

However, the event to divorce Desiderata can only fire if Carloman has died, meaning that his family has already fled to a random catholic kingdom.

So unless the court randomly chosen just happens to be Lombardy, the only way to get the claim on Lombardy is to A trigger the event to divorce Desiderata and then kill Carloman, or B get a claim on Lombardy from the Pope. Samman High King of California 67 Badges. Jun 8, I feel that there should be another event to give Charlie a claim on Lombardy if you didn’t marry Dessy. Zhetone New and Improved 73 Badges. Mar 18, 4. Wait wtf, you have to divorce to get the claim?

I stuck through it thinking that was historical and that I would eventually have a claim Byzan Colonel 31 Badges. Oct 1, What is theSaxon War event? I typically go into Charlemagne’s story but stop because the vassal limit stuff makes no sense. You literally can’t avoid being over the limit – hell I was over the limit when I was the Byzantine Empire and denounced Iconoclasm.

Samman said:. Labrynian Rebel Paragon 39 Badges. Sep 19, 1. How about the Papal States get their historic borders, Lombardy has a claim on the eastern provinces to connect the two parts of the kingdom, and then have an event where if the Pope hates the King of Lombardy he asks Charlemagne to intervene and due to the previous claims the Pope will probably end up hating the Lombards.

Pretty much every complaint about this DLC is rebutted with “This DLC focuses on the story of Charlemagne, so an event that allows the Khazars the possibility to convert to Judaism isn’t important” but now we see that Charlemagne’s story has a lot of things missing, and a lot of the stuff that is in doesn’t even work properly.

Helios Ra Captain 89 Badges. Dec 15, 7. Wow I married her based purely on “huh well at least my kids will have the chance to get a claim on Lombardy,” got the event and thought “hell no I want my kids to claim Lombardy! Zhetone said:.
